Once you’ve enrolled

Everything below applies after you’ve paid and started — it’s here for reference, not to read before signing up.

How the online course works
  1. Open the page for your course and click its Enroll button.
  2. Fill out the registration form, review it, and click Register.
  3. Your list of sessions appears — click Start course to begin.
  4. After each chapter you take a short quiz. Pass it and you move to the next chapter.
  5. Finish with the online final exam. Pass, and we email your Certificate of Completion.

You can exit and re-enter at any time — progress monitoring picks you up exactly where you left off.

The final exam
  • Available once you’ve read all 11 sessions and completed the end-of-chapter questions.
  • 50 multiple-choice questions; you need 40 correct (80%) to pass.
  • Graded electronically — you get your result immediately.
  • You may retake the course online free until you pass.
DMV requirements & your certificate
  • The DMV allows 90 days to complete an 8-hour clinic. Miss it and your driving privilege is suspended until you do.
  • The course and final test must be completed through a DMV-licensed online clinic — no paper test.
  • Your identity is verified throughout training and before the final test.
  • Certificates are emailed immediately once you pass the final exam — there is no processing delay.
  • The DMV standardized certificate (DIC 552B) is the only document the Department and the courts accept as proof.
  • If a court directed you here, you must provide the court documentation before safe driving points can be awarded.
  • To benefit from the course you must be able to work independently and be comfortable using a computer.
  • Certificates are PDFs — you will need a free PDF reader such as Adobe Acrobat Reader to view or print yours.
